MARRIOTT OCEANWATCH AT GRANDE DUNES
MURRELLS INLET
HUNTINGTON STATE PARK - You MUST experience this gem. We brought our bikes and never expected the adventure. The Atalya castle ($2 fee) is worth the history, tour and beauty. The bike paths were great and we even explored the trails - super fun and a bit muddy - isn't that what makes it fun? We saw all kinds of wildlife including the resident alligators along the marsh and pink spoonbill birds that look like flamingos. The Nature Center is beautiful and has public restrooms as well. It even makes you think about having an RV and staying overnight at the beautiful facilities.
WICKED TUNA - Wonderful seating outside. The dragon roll appetizer was AMAZING. Fried avocado stuffed with seafood and baked with tempura, served with spicy mayo. Dylan did quite well practicing chopsticks for the first time! The catch of the day was grouper served with zucchini and pureed cauliflower in a gorgonzola sauce, mouth watering and food portion was huge. We split the entree is preparation for the ice cream dessert. Presentation was beautiful. Our son had the fish and chips off the kids menu, served with a frisbee to take home. Paris talked with the fisherman on the dock who were loading their boat for a two or three day fishing trip. Great location and ambiance.
MEYERS ICE CREAM- Delicious, large sundaes. One scoop is all you need! We're had the cookie lovers (recommended by the young man working here), coconut dream and strawberry shortcake. DELICIOUS and good prices. There is enough to satisfy every member of the family.
SAFETY: This place made every effort to make customers safe: plexiglass separation, no touch payments, waiting in separate area, menus outside and inside, masks and reconfiguring the indoor area.
RIVER ISLAND ADVENTURES
This amazing property is a lot of fun! River island adventures makes you want to go glamping (and that's not even close to Kyle thing), and is so inviting with the tubing, jet skis, kayak, camping, fire pits, grills and yard games. We competed in the super fun escape from River Island that our family of three competed in. This is part Amazing Race part Survivor part escape room we could do this over and over and over again. We would come back to Myrtle Beach for this adventure alone! There are 10 obstacles and the final challenge is the paddle battle to kayak a half a mile up to the finish line. This group has amazing things planned for this property. We can't wait to come back again with all of the planned activities they have. From glamping tents to Treehouse camping and the future plans of a Survivor Island. We would be most excited for the floating Tiki Bar that can serve cocktails as you are kayaking! We can't wait to visit again and see all the progress here, at the already amazing facility!
